Mabuhay!

We are pleased to invite you to the 7th International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) Asian Regional Conference to be held in Manila, Philippines from September 23 to 26, 2007 hosted by the Child Protection Unit Network (CPU-Net).

Professionals, government agencies and non-governmental organizations have been working to increase awareness of child abuse and helping children and families cope with its aftermath, but much still needs to be done.

The conference, will discuss four main themes:

  • child physical and sexual abuse
  • children in conflict with the law
  • children in natural disasters
  • child sex tourism and trafficking

Best practices and recent research addressing challenges in prevention, medical intervention, psychosocial work, investigation and prosecution will be presented and discussed.

A large number of delegates from various professional, governmental and non-governmental organizations are expected to attend to discuss critical issues on the above themes as well as to network with other organizations and individuals from different countries throughout Asia, Europe, Oceania and America.

Come and share your knowledge and experience with us! Learn from other participants as you enjoy the warmth and hospitality of the Filipino people. We have prepared an interesting mix of academic sessions and an enjoyable social programme. We also encourage you to submit an abstract for presentation.

We look forward to seeing you in Manila!
